At the risk of churning up a cliché, human beings are social animals.
We often factor into our decisions what others do, and what they expect us to do – irrespective of whether we comply with said expectations. It is therefore prudent to incorporate measurement of social norms into development interventions meant to solve ‘wicked’ problems.
